The new bus stop pole comes in three designs

Now Singaporeans only see the old bus stop pole(top)with all the bus information boards sticking out.But now,the design has changed.All the bus services are now displayed in the pole itself! (except the standard design)The new design comes with a in-built notice board that shows bus service information when needed.

SUPERBUS(SBS 9888Y)

This bus is still in revenue service but there are two changes.Its electronic destination signage(EDS)has been removed and its livery has changed.It used to have 2 red arrows on the old livery and it beared the title'Superbus'.The EDS was removed in 2005.(On 7 March 2010,this bus was destroyed in a fire at Ang Mo Kio Depot.Status is unknown.)

SBS TRANSIT VOLVO OLYMPIAN WITH EDS(SBS 9618K)

This is a Volvo Olympian with a electronic destination signage(EDS)installed.SBS Transit made an unexpected move to install the EDS on this bus some few years back.This bus also had a side and rear LED display.SBS 9618K was chosen to be the demonstrator bus for the Volvo Olympian fleet.

NOKIA SBS BUS(SBS 2779A)

WOW!!This bus is a luxury bus of a sort.It has TVMobile and the WI-FI for Nokia handphones.These type of seats cannot be found in other SBS buses.SBS 2779A must be a lucky bus!If you all encounter this bus,please board it and take a look in the interior.I will board this bus if I encounter it.

SINGAPORE'S 44TH YEAR OF INDEPENDENCE

Singapore turns 44 today!Singapore gained independence on 9 August 1965.There were performances like singing,dancing and a bit of history about the founding of Singapore,which is a new segment added to this year's NDP.There is no celebration without fireworks which lasted for minutes.And this year's NDP theme song is What Do You See by Electrico.

SINGAPORE FLYER

The Singapore Flyer is the largest ferris wheel in the world.It stands at 165M(541ft)and 42 stories high.You can have a bird's eye- view of Singapore with this observation wheel.Its diameter is 150M(492ft).The Flyer has 28 air conditioned capsules and each of them can hold 28 passengers or 5 wheelchairs with 15 other passengers.The Singapore Flyer opened on 1 March 2008.One complete rotation of the wheel takes about 30 minutes.
