This photo shows the new platform at Jurong East MRT Station.This platform was built to boost the capacity of the station as only one North South Line(NSL) train could terminate at this station at any one time.When this platform opens in around May 2011,two NSL trains can terminate at this station at any one time.This platform was also built to ease peak hour crowds.With the 22 C151A trains coming to revenue service at the same time as the platform's opening,the capacity of the North South Line (NSL)and the East West Line(EWL)will be increased by 15%.
